For close to 36 hours, Governor Okoth Obado has taken a low profile after his release from Industrial Area prison where he had been held for 34 days over Sharon Otieno's murder.
A section of residents are worried over his next course of action even after briefly issuing a statement over his release.
"I want to thank my supporters, legal team and family for standing with me. I also thank the court for granting me bail to serve people," he stated.
During his absence, the county ushered in a new senator, Ochillo Ayacko, who he had publicly opposed his candidature.
And according to some residents, Obado should make appearance soon and end his standoff with Mr. Ayacko.
"There is tension everywhere. We need him to speak about the county issues and end his animosity with Ayacko in public," said James Odhiambo, chairman Rongo Bodaboda.
Another team of youths led by Elijah Onyango added: "We want peace. It's time we focused on development. Let the governor declare ceasefire with other leaders."
None of the ten elected leaders at the constituency supports Obado even though he enjoys little support from MCAs.
Sources intimate that Obado's legal team is contemplating to appeal the movement restrictions of not coming close to Home Bay County, on grounds that all the routes he will use back home passes through the county.
He will be back to court in May 2019 when the trial for Sharon Otieno's murder kicks off.
