The ThirdcWay Alliance seeks to have the law amended to reduce the number of elective seats, in an initiative dubbed ‘Punguza Mizigo’ (burden reduction).
The party has repeatedly termed this as one of the remedies for the nation's growing wage-bill.
He has proposed the eradication of the constitutions and the introduction of the current 47 as their replacement.
To reduce the large number of elective representatives, the party wants only two persons elected per county, this being a woman and a man.
This, however, comes amid another referendum push by opposition leader Raila Odinga who has also proposed the expansion of the executive to accommodate more individuals.
