A group of herders from Balambala sub county have accused Kenya Wildlife Service officers of makig arbitrary arrests, burning houses and detaining children.
The herders led by their spokesman Adhan Ibrahim asked the government should intervene and investigate excesses of the officers.
"Drought is ravaging our area leaving us walk long distances to look for water and pasture for our animals. The government should assist instead of sending these officers from Meru to terrorize us", said Ibrahim.
He added that the officers should protect them and not harassing the herders who are going round to graze their animals.
"We can't leave our animals die from hunger now that there is drought. We need protection as we are looking for good pastures for our livestock", he said.
Drought has hit North Eastern counties, a situation that has forced herders migrate from their homes to look for green pastures and water for their dying animals.
