West Mugirango Member of Parliament Vincent Kemosi has challenged interior ministry to sack police officers attached to Bonyamatuta, Kebirigo.
According to the Ford Kenya legislator, police officers from the region have failed in executing their duties, a move that has led to escalating insecurity cases.
"I will not rest until police officers who have served in the area for over three years are removed due to incompetence," he insisted.
The vocal MP accused the current officers of being responsible for increased crime in the area.
He regretted that the officers have put their interests first instead of people's safety.
"Police should offer security to people and their property but, not demanding for bribes. The officers who have served in the area for a long period must be removed," he stated.
He challenged Nyamira County commissioner Amos Mariba to coordinate the exercise of removing the lazy police officers.
"I have already informed the commissioner about the numerous complains locals have been making to my office about the lazy police officers. All I want to see is new police officers deployed to offer security in the region," he stated.
