Nyamira County Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo has broken his silence over the illegal hiring of county employees since 2018.
According to Nyaribo, several people have been recruited to civil service in Nyamira as support staff.
He said most of the illegally hired people had their letters backdated to 2016 and were asked to specifically open bank accounts with Family Bank and Cooperative bank.
"This illegality ought to be addressed soonest. It's the reason why our wage bill is now at 65 per cent," he said.
The Deputy Governor argued that most of the illegally recruited staff were hired when Governor Nyagarama was in the US for treatment while some were recruited in March and April 2018 a clear indication that the county secretary has a hand in the illegal hiring.
Nyaribo accused Health Minister Douglas Bosire who is intending to run for a political seat instead of focusing to deliver in health department having been entrusted for the position by H. E Nyagarama.
"I'm keen to push delivery of the Big Four agenda and cementing the legacy of Governor Nyagarama but, I won't support premature politicking," said Nyaribo.
