Renowned rapper Brian Omollo alias Khaligraph Jones has revealed that despite his love for body art, his tattoos do not enjoy the approval of his mother.
Khaligrapgh said being a preacher, his mother, who is, however, his greatest fan and source of encouragement, was not amused by the tattoos.
In an interview with the Star, he said he hid the tattos off her view for a year, by wearing turtlenecks and long sleeved clothes.
"No. She was against them. In fact, when I had the tattoos for a whole year, she didn't know. I would visit her wearing a turtleneck on and long-sleeved coats. She says I spoiled my skin," the celebrated rapper said.
He further noted that his mother loves him singing than rapping.
Despite his mother being a preacher, Jones is not deeply rooted in religion, and does not attend his mother's church.
"She is a staunch Christian, loves the Lord and is in the ministry. She's a pastor. She loves my music but she loves the songs where I'm singing, not rapping. She loves my single Kasayole. Anytime, I'm singing she gets fascinated. She's a fan.
"No, I don't. Right now, she is hosted in other people's churches, until she establishes her own. Every once in a while I pay my tithe," he adds.
Jones, at some point considered the fastest rapper in Kenya, reveals that he has since recorded over 2,000 songs, and is neither a drinker nor a smoker.
