The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has released a report that shows more men die in road accidents than women.
In a comprehensive table posted on their twitter account on Tuesday, NTSA has revealed that 83.3% of people who die from road accident in Kenya are men while 16.7% are women.
''The latest road crash data indicate that men lead in the contribution to road fatalities,'' wrote NTSA.
The report shows data of the last one year.
It stated that 2,263 men ( which is 83.3%) died from road accidents while only 459 women (which is 16.7%) died from the same road accidents.
It further revealed that more accidents happen over the weekends. 497 died on Saturday while 480 died on Sunday.
According to their report, more accidents (69%) happened at night from 5 PM to 7:59 AM. However, only 31% of the accidents happened during the day.
The report found out that people between the ages of 30-34 years recorded highest number of deaths while those from 65 and above recorded lowest number of deaths.
Nairobi County recorded the highest number of accidents thus highest number of deaths.
The report which was seen by Citizen Digital revealed that pedestrians registered the highest number of deaths from road accidents, as 1,049 deaths were recorded.
Private vehicles recorded the highest number of accidents thus leading in number of deaths.
