A Silverstone plane made an emergence landing at the Elodret International Airport on Monday.
According to an official who asked to remain anonymous, the plane that was from Lodwar to Nairobi lost its rare tire thus making the emergence landing for the safely of those on-board.
“The captain of the plane decided to land in Eldoret International Airport in the interests of the continued safety of the passengers and crew,'' the official told K24 Digital.
Confirming the incidence, Uasin Gishu County Commander Johnstone Ipara told K24 Digital reporter in Eldoret, Timothy Simwa, that the plane landed safely and no one was injured.
More so, he noted that they had received a report from Lodwar that the plane had a technical hitch which called for its landing.
He asked netizens spreading fake news about the plane to make sure they get the right information before sharing it.
“Those spreading the ‘purported’ right information on social media must always strive to get the right information before they feed Kenyans with misinformation that may cause fear and panic particularly to the families of those on board,'' he said as quoted by K24 Digital.
The plane was carrying 9 people (four passengers and five crew members).
This comes barely a month after another Silverstone plane crashed in Nairobi injuring few people.
