A family in Igena-Itambe, West Mugirango in Nyamira County is set to bury their loved one who was shot dead by Al-Shaabab terrorists during the DusitD2 attack in Nairobi.
A 36-year-old Zachary Omboga, an employee of Senaca International Limited was shot dead while manning the main gate of the DusitD2 complex.
Omboga's mother Monicah Nyakerario said the family will transport the body currently lying at Chiromo mortuary in Nairobi on Sunday ahead of burial on Monday.
"His body was be brought home on Sunday for a night stay before he will be laid to rest. His death is a big blow to us since he was taking care of everyone in the family," she noted.
Devastated Nyakererio revealed that the deceased in November last year had buried his only son who died after a short illness.
"He died while we were mourning the death of his son. He has left behind a childless 26-year-old widow Janet Nyanchama," said Nyakerario.
John Nyabwanga, the deceased brother urged the government to compensate families who lost their loved ones during the attack.
"Life will not be the same to us given that by brother died on duty. His wife will suffer given that Omboga was the sole provider," he said.
Nyabwanga appealed to the government to arm security guard with guns.
