Barely a week after opinion poll firm Ipsos Synovate released its recent findings on corruption in Kenya, Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa has rubbished both the results and the firm.
In its results released on Wednesday, the Tom Wolf-led firm ranked Deputy President William Ruto the most corrupt Kenyan, in a poll it said around 2000 Kenyans participated in.
But in an interview on Radio Jambo Saturday morning, Aladwa accused the firm of continuously misleading Kenyans, wondering why it never outlined the reasons behind the results.
He called for punitive measures against the firm, calling upon Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’I to have Wolf deported with immediate effect.
‘’Huyu Tom Wolf amezoea kupotosha Wakenya na lazima azuiwe. Namwomba waziri Matiang’I ambebe amrudishe nyumbani kwao (Wolf is becoming too much in misleading Kenyans and CS Matiang’I should not act and take him back to his nation),’’ said Aladwa.
The former Nairobi City Council Mayor who hails from the opposition’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party was apparently angered by the firm’s allegations before the previous poll where the party leader Raila Odinga lost in the presidential contest.
He took issue with the firm for repeatedly ranking Odinga behind President Uhuru Kenyatta in polls to determine the most popular candidate, questioning his results.
‘’Hawezi tuambia eti huyu ama Yule ndiye atashinda, kwani yeye ni Mungu (is he God to predict the winner?),’’ wondered Aladwa.
The poll also ranked President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga in the top ten list of the most corrupt Kenyans.
