The Makongeni ODM MCA claims that Sonko does not want to be criticized on his wrongs.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, the MCA said that the governor is allegedly using the ‘cartels’ tag to silence his critics.

He said that as governor, Sonko must be ready to accept positive criticism.

He said that elected leaders and county officials are afraid of positively criticizing the governor for fear of intimidation.

“It is unfortunate that Governor Sonko is allegedly using blackmail to silence leaders who are opposed to his style of leadership,” he said.

Imwatok said that for Nairobi to achieve her development agenda, Sonko and other leaders must accept criticism.

The MCA further criticised Sonko for recording and making public phone calls.

He termed the move as disgusting, noting that he should respect the privacy of his friends whether cartels or not.
