ODM leader Raila Odinga has now reverted to using of foreign affairs ministry to help embattled Kenyan businessman Don Bosco Gichana out of Arusha prison.

For five years now, Gichana has been languishing in jail over money laundering and fraud allegations, a case which Tanzanian authorities shave failed to prove in court.

And Raila, an ally of the estranged businessman cum politician, has now decided to use government operatives to handle the matter.

"The Kenyan government has never been bothered with the matter because of its political nature. Raila was initially trying to use Tanzanian authorities a move which backfired.

"He has now asked the government to intervene and the matter could be settled soon. The Foreign Affairs ministry has been instructed to ensure justice prevails," said an ODM official who spoke in confidence.

On Friday, a section of youths from Nyamira cancelled planned demonstrations against President John Magufuli, who was scheduled to attend a function in Migori which has since been cancelled.

According to the youths led by Douglas Maati, family members asked them to call of demos because 'authorities' had taken the matter.

In 2007, Bosco was among financiers of Raila's campaign and is credited for donating the famous Hammer.
