Amid reports of increased cases of insecurity in the region, Senator Yusuf Haji has sent an urgent memo over deteriorating security in Garissa.
Speaking in Masalani town on Friday, a number of political leaders who included Senator Yusuf Haji, Deputy Governor Dagane Abdi Dagane and the Ijara MP Sophia Abdi Noor said police have proved inefficient in handling the security situation in the area and so was their need to pass a message to the interior CS.
"Security in the region is worsening. Police are here but they are not helping much and this message must reach the CS," said Haji who was flanked by the local leaders.
In the recent past, locals have been accusing police officers of not doing much to combat insecurity in the area.
Just a few days ago, two people were killed in Ijara.
