Kenyan social media users were on Tuesday night treated to a stunt from popular Kenyan music producer Magix Enga.

The stunt which came shortly after allegations that Magix Enga had been arrested, led to the emergence of reports that he may have passed on.

The Kenyan netizens who had earlier on taken the matter seriously seemed not to be impressed by the move from Magix Enga, who as is it appears, is warming up the internet for a music video that he is just about to release.

A section of the Kenyans on Twitter thought Magix Enga went a little bit too far by using death as a stunt. 

They warned him against joking about such serious issues, citing that he could have used another subject to still attract the attention of the internet.

A number of the netizens were on the other hand disappointed in the music producer who has made a name for himself not just in Kenya but across entire East Africa. 

They believed that such a stunt would within a short time make him irrelevant as an artist and cautioned him to change his marketing strategy.

Some of Magix Enga's fans could however not help but sympathize with him regardless of the fact that it was just a hoax.

Earlier on, Magix Enga had on a separate occasion attracted the attention of the internet with the reports that he was arrested.

It is a common phenomenon in the Kenyan entertainment industry for artists to stage publicity stunts before releasing songs.
