Residents of Ruyoibei area in Solai, Nakuru County have decried increased rate of insecurity in the region, allegedly caused by members of a dreaded gang in the area.
The locals claimed that members of Blue Boys gang are being sponsored by leaders in the area to force them out of disputed land in the area.
Led by Charles Solari, the group urged police officers at the Solai Police Station to take necessary action, and restore sanity in the area.
“We have been threatened and we wonder whether we have a government in place,” he said.
Another resident; Musa Kiptoo said the gang is being used to instill fear among residents in the area, and force them out of the disputed land.
He narrated how he was allegedly attacked, roughed up and almost killed by the gang who demanded he releases ownership of his land, adding that he reported the same to the police, but no action was taken.
He urged the relevant authorities to swing into action, adding that residents will continue living in fear if nothing is done.
On his part, Peter Kiloo; another resident of the area said residents have reported to Solai police station yet no action has been taken.
The area police boss is yet to issue an official statement on the same.
