Political differences between Deputy President William Ruto and nominated Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda seems to be getting wider as 2022 succession politics continue to cause nasty debates in the country.
Speaking at Kamahuha girls High School in Muranga’a county on Wednesday, DP Ruto hilariously mocked the nominated legislator saying he should also be considered for the cash transfer program.
The cash transfer program provides a monthly stipend to the elderly and the vulnerable in society by the national government
“All old persons in Kenya without any form of discrimination including Kamanda should receive the elderly cash transfer,” Ruto said in a video that has been shared severally on Facebook.
Kamanda together with his Nyeri Town counterpart Ngunjiri Wambugu have been leading a section of Mt Kenya politicians who have maintained that DP Ruto should not be given a direct Jubilee party ticket in the upcoming 2022 presidential elections.
The ongoing graft war has also led to an exchange of bitter words between Kamanda and DP Ruto's allies as the former MP and his ‘Kieleweke’ team continue to call for Investigations of the DP by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
