Kibra MP Ken Okoth has caused a stir on Twitter after he argued Senate Majority leader and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen to plant Marijuana.
This comes after the Jubilee senator shared photos of him tending plants in his farm. Okoth urged Murkomen to consider Marijuana for better profits from the cash crop which is mainly used for medical purposes.
He has been pushing to have Marijuana legalised in Kenya after he introduced the bill in 2018.
Murkomen hilariously responded with rastafarian slang 'wagwan' dismissing Okoth's call.
In September, the Kibra lawmaker wrote to National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi asking for facilitation in preparing the Marijuana Control Bill, which seeks to decriminalise its growth and use in the country.
He further proposed progressive taxation measures for the marijuana industry to boost job creation.
Kenyans on Twitter have expressed mixed reactions over planting of Marijuana with a section of Kenyans supporting the call. Here is a sample of reactions from KoT.
