A section of leaders from Nyamira have backed an impending meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and US President Donald Trump.

Led by Victor Swanya, the politicians claimed that the meeting between the two leaders will boost trade between the US and Kenya. 

“Trump’s meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta will see trade relations between the two countries improve," he said.

Swanya urged President Uhuru to seek donors from the US to fund various projects in the country. 

North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko said the meeting came at the right time when Uhuru is at the peak fighting impunity in the country. 

“Uhuru meeting Trump is done deal since he is committed to end corruption. Let him ask Trump to share with him the tactics he will use to end corruption and terrorism in this country,” said Nyamoko. 

The lawmaker pleaded with Uhuru to request Trump for more funds to be used in initiating and launching projects across the country.  

He reiterated that the meeting will boost the government Big 4 agenda.
