Maribe and her fiancée Joseph Kuria Irungu alias Jowie were arraigned before high court judge Justice James Wakiaga for a bail application.

The hearing was pushed to October 24 at 11:30 am.

The legislator was among a battery of family and friends who showed up in court and showed Maribe and her lover with moral support.

Another high profile visitor who paid the news anchor a visit is Dennis Itumbi, the Secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President of the Republic of Kenya.

Itumbi was captured exchanging words with MP Kuria as the court waited for the judge.

Jowie’s family, as well as friends, was also in court.

Legal fireworks are expected on Wednesday when defense lawyers and the prosecutor will face off on why the two should be given or denied bail.

Already, Justice Wakaiga has directed that a probation report on bail be prepared and filed by October 23.

While opposing the release of the two earlier on, prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki had argued that journalist Maribe is a connected person with friends in high places hence in a position to interfere with the case.
