Cyber crime has been rampant in the recent past. Many Kenyans have been scammed online because of various reasons. Handling scammers can be tough if you do not know how they work.
There are things you are doing online that put you at risk of not being safe while online. Do not leave yourself at the mercy of online scammers. Here are three ways to protect yourself from online scammers.
1. Avoid using the same passwords everywhere
It is easier for scammers to get your information when you use the same passwords. If one of your passwords leaks, you will be safe if the other ones are different. Most persons with the same passwords are at the risk of being scammed.
2. Don’t fall victim to money-making advertisements
Most people find themselves, victims of fraud because they get attracted to money advertisements. Never rush into money advertisements you get online. Some of the advertisements are meant to lure you into dirty deals. Do not be too quick to respond to the alerts you get online.
3. Never send money to the unknown person
It is common to hear cases of persons who sent money to con artists. Unless you are sure of the deal, never send any stranger money. Be keen lest you are tricked into another dirty deal.
