Deputy President (DP) William Ruto on Wednesday hosted Israeli Ambassador to Kenya Oded Joseph at his Karen office, Nairobi.

In a tweet, the DP said matters of mutual interest between the two countries were discussed, including enhancing cooperation between the two nations.

He further noted that they deliberated on scaling cooperation, which will result in commerce and food security by adopting modern farming practices.

"We are up-scaling our cooperation to enhance commerce, infrastructure development, education, and food security by adopting modern farming practices," he wrote.

The DP reiterated Kenya's gratefulness for the support it is receiving from the Israeli republic, with regards to her candidature for the non-parmanent seat at United Nation (UN) security council.

The DP said the backing cements the cordial relationship that has been existing between the two nations.

"Kenya appreciates the support by Israel in its bid for a non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council. This furthers the warm and deep historical ties between the two countries," he added.
