A team from the County Government of Busia on Monday visited Uasin Gishu county headquarters in Eldoret town for a benchmarking mission on matters of dissemination of information through the ICT-LED Screen.
Speaking during the visit, teams’ head of delegation Casper Ajuma who is the Bunyala South MCA, as well as the County Assembly's chair for ICT, Library and House Broadcasting said the county needs an LED machine to assist in informing the public of development projects across the wards.
Ajuma said once they acquire the screen, residents will greatly see what the governor and the MCAs have done in the grassroots.
Uasin Gishu County prides itself for having acquired the screen on the grounds that apart from informing the public on both the past and upcoming events, it also plays a role of revenue collection through advertisements for the private sector and other institutions.
According to revenue section, the screen is now part of the major revenue generators that the county relies on.
County Secretary Edwin Bett while seeing the delegation off said Uasin Gishu will continue partnering with Busia to see to it that their ICT structures are fully set.
The team later visited the county's main data centre and the LED Screen to see how infomercials are aired.
Apart from Busia, already a delegation from Nyeri, Narok and West Pokot has visited Eldoret to benchmark on the use of the LED screen.
