An elected MP allied to opposition NASA has faulted Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi for attempting to slap  Secretary Youths Affairs in the office of the Deputy President, Anthony Kibagendi on Friday at Kisii Sports club.

Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati said Maangi is turning himself to be a political 'conman' wrestling leaders opposed to his gubernatorial bid.  

"It is disappointing that Maangi wanted to wrestle with Kibagendi in public just because of politics. Maangi should know the electorates will make their decision in 2022 through the ballot," he said.

The vocal lawmaker urged Kisii residents not to back gubernatorial aspirants in 2022 who will bring their feelings to other contestants.  

Arati who doubles as the Gusii community spokesman insisted that he will not let down the Gusii community. 

"I will be at the forefront be it day or night championing for development for the Gusii community. Elected leaders must stop unnecessary fights over leadership," he added. 

The ODM elected MP warned residents against condoning local politicians engaging in divisive and hatred politics.  

Arati was addressing residents at Ogembo main Bus Park in Kisii County on Friday.
