Speaking on Citizen TV's JKL on Wednesday, Miguna said that he was abandoned for hours following his arrest after administering the controversial oath that saw ODM leader Raila Odinga declared the 'People’s President.'

Miguna said that he recalls the events that transpired after his arrest vividly. He claimed that nobody gave him food for hours. The lawyer-cum-activist also said that he was not informed of the reason behind his arrest when police picked him up.

“They didn’t give me food, water or anything. So in the evening, the NRM people in through Githunguri for some reason they knew, the press and a few of my friends and lawyers. So I was called and I came outside and I saw Waikwa Wanyoike, Kamau Ngugi, who is a human rights defender.

" I saw the secretary for ODM Sifuna, Otieno the lawyer for Wanjigi, he was constantly on the phone updating Raila and the group and he was not talking to me. When they went, they told me they already got an order for my release and that I would be released so I felt relieved. For the first time, they brought me food. They bought food, they bought a drink. I felt so upset when Sifuna made it look like eating was a privilege, "he said.

The vocal lawyer also insisted that the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila was pre-arranged
