Early this week, EACC managed to recover 0.14 Ha of land that had been irregularly allocated to Dr Oginga, after the court nullified his tittle deed.

At Kisumu on Sunday, Dr Oginga accused EACC of unfairly targeting him, adding that it's because he is brother to Raila Odinga, who is a proponent of anti-corruption.

According to him, EACC should stop targeting 'small fish' like him and instead go for mega corruption cases which have been reported in the country.

“The court has found that there was no fraud on my part. I did not acquire the parcel irregularly and fraudulently,” said Dr Oginga.

He added: “This is political hogwash; they (EACC) are singling me out because I am the brother of Raila. It is not my mistake to be Raila’s brother, I did not apply to be one. Neither Raila nor me need the parcel of land.”

He said that he had been cleared by courts of the alleged irregular acquisition, adding that he is ready to be prosecuted should EACC chose to do so.

The former Bondo MP asked the commission to stop rushing to media to seek publicity over small issues which do not make any impact.

“EACC should not make it a habit of rushing to the press with matters for cheap publicity. If they feel there is a mega corruption they should rush to court,” said Dr Oginga.

The commission's CEO Twalib Mbarak said earlier this week that repossession of Dr Oburu's land was a major gain in the war against corruption.
