The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cleared five candidates for the Wajir West Constituency by-election.
The by-election is set for April 25.
The candidates cleared by the polls agency are, Ali Noor Abdi of Labour Party of Kenya (LPK), Ibrahim Mohamud of KANU and Mohamed Yusuf Elmi of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) .
Also cleared is Ahmed Kolosh who is contesting on a Jubilee Party ticket and Abbas Nubow of AGANO Party.
Already candidates eyeing the parliamentary by-election have started campaigning for votes.
The Wajir West Parliamentary seat was declared vacant when the Supreme Court nullified the election of Kolosh.
The apex court annulled Kolosh's election on grounds that it was not free and fair.
Days after he lost the seat, Kolosh quit the ODM Party and joined Jubilee.
The former MP is among favourites to clinch the Wajir West seat.
Political analysts Peter Ngure has described the Wajir West by-election as a two-horse between Kolosh of Jubilee and professor Elmi of ODM.
