Mr Kidero filed the case together with his wife Susan Mboya Kidero and his children, to sue the DPP over a search that was recently conducted at his home.

The former governor claimed that he has been threatened, attacked, harassed and intimidated by the DPP and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

The former governor through his lawyer, Prof. Tom Ojienda, claims that DPP Haji and the EACC have been intimidating his family members, friends and associates so that they can shun him.

He claimed that his Muthaiga home was raided by 40 armed officers from the EACC and held him hostage at his own house.

Kidero said his rights have been violated and that the DPP has a weak case against him because he lacks evidence.

According to the former governor, he is a man of integrity and he accumulated his wealth gradually over the years since his first employment in 1983.

The court directed lawyer Ojienda to serve the court documents to the DPP, EACC and Attorney-General among others. The case will be heard on October 4.

In August, DPP Haji ordered for Mr Kidero’s arrest and prosecution over alleged corruption during his tenure as the Nairobi Governor.
