Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has condemned the killing Fr. Cosmas Ondari.
The later Ondari was allegedly shot by suspected Cameroon soldiers on November 21, 2018, at Mfame Parish.
"Killing of Omboto is a big loss not only to the family but, the entire world. I am hereby condemning the brutal killing and those responsible for Omboto's killing must be brought to book," he said.
Maangi asked the Foreign Affairs Ministry to treat the matter with urgency and make a formal inquiry into the priest's death so as to ensure Justice prevails.

He wondered why Cameroon soldiers shot dead the man of God who had dedicated his time in preaching the Gospel.
"There is no law in the world which allows soldiers to kill unarmed people. The State of Cameroon must explain why its soldiers shot dead Omboto who was at the church when he was shot dead," noted Maangi.
The Deputy Governor assured that the county government shall give necessary support to the family of the deceased during this trying moment.
He urged members of the clergy and residents to remember the family in prayers.
