Miguna in a long Facebook message eulogises the former Kajiado Central MP as a generous man who wanted to see a better Kenya in future.

He said Nkaissery was a courageous man who always made independent decision devoid of external influence.

"General Joseph Ole Nkaissery was a good friend of mine and a disciplined Kenyan," he said.

"He donated Sh500,000, the highest single donation, for my gubernatorial race in 2017. Days before he died, we met at the Ole Sereni hotel for lunch."

Miguna vied for the Nairobi gubernatorial race but lost to current Governor Mike Sonko who vied on a Jubilee party ticket.

Nkaissery, who Miguna describes as his former close friend died on July 8, 2017, a month to the August 8 general election.

He died at the Karen hospital shortly after being admitted to the facility and there was speculation then that he was taken to the health facility when he was already dead.

His death was a big blow to the country owing to his boldness in fighting militant group Al Shabaab which then was a big headache to the country's security agencies.
