England played Croatia on Wednesday evening as they went all out in search of a ticket to play in the final of the ongoing World Cup in Russia.
The team took the lead inside the first five minutes, but were pegged back by a Perisic goal in the 68th minute, which saw the match end in a 1-1 draw, forcing extra time.
Deep into extra time, Mario Mandzukic popped up to score the winning goal, condemning the Three Lions to another semi-final defeat.
There was a lot of talk before the match, with England going a step further to even organise for planes with the message 'It's coming home' to fly above the London skies.
The video became an instant hit, but came back to bite them after they lost tot he Croats.
