Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has hit out at his Deputy James Nyoro over claims of being sidelined in running the county affairs.
Waititu said Nyoro is being insincere in his claims of not being fully engaged in running the county government.
Speaking to journalists in Kiambu Town on Monday, Waititu said that the truce pact made during the June meeting is being implemented fully.
The county boss further accused his deputy of running to the media to seek sympathy.
“Nyoro should stop running to the media to publish lies and instead work with me to deliver services to Kiambu people,” said Waititu.
Waititu also denied claims by Nyoro that the county is being mismanaged, saying the allegations by Nyoro that staff salaries are being delayed are false.
The vocal governor noted that he will not be dragged into petty politics, adding that his resolve is to work for Kiambu residents.
Last week, Nyoro accused Waititu of ignoring the memorandum they signed after the June truce meeting organized by Senator Kimani Wamatangi.
The deputy governor claimed that Waititu is still running the county without consultation from him and other officials.
“Waititu has completely ignored the agenda we agreed on and continues to run the county as his own home,” Nyoro said last week in Thika.
The fresh fall out between Waititu and Nyoro comes a time when the governor has been on the spot over poor service delivery at public hospitals in the county.
