Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has hit out at ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, terming him a non-performer.
In an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Khalwale opined that Raila did not leave a legacy in Kibra during his tenure as Langata MP.
He argued that Raila served the people of Kibra for years but there is nothing to show on the ground and criticised him for going back to the constituency with promises of a better future.
Khalwale urged residents to reconsider voting for ODM candidate Imran Bernard Okoth during the forthcoming Kibra by-elections.
He argued that Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga remains the best bet for the seat, and asked the residents to stand with Mariga to ensure he becomes the area's next Member of Parliament (MP).
“The only legacy Raila left in Kibra is that which he did not do,” he said.
On Sunday, Raila pitched tent in Kibra to woo residents to vote for Imran Okoth in the by-election set to be held on November 7.
The opposition leader said that he has great plans for the people of Kibra if they elect Okoth to represent them. He pleaded with the residents not to abandon him during the mini poll.
“Those others asking for votes here are strangers. An outsider cannot address the challenges facing Kibra people,” he said.
Deputy President William Ruto also traversed Kibra to campaign for Mariga.
