Members of the clergy in Bonchari, Kisii County have disowned former MP John Opore after he lost a case he had filed at the Supreme court challenging the election of the current MP John Oyioka.
The clergy led by Bishop Stephen Nyakoi said they had advised the former MP to accept the defeat in vain.
"As clergymen of Bonchari, we advised our former MP Opore to swallow his pride and shake hands with the current MP but, he did not take heed. He ignored and gave us deaf ears but, the court humiliated him further," he said.
Nyakoi now wants to know the next step the ex-MP will follow after he lost the appeal at the Supreme court.
"The former MP should know Bonchari is bigger than everyone. He must be contented with the 15 years he served as MP without tangible development and always abide with the electorates' decisions," he noted.
Lawrence Kiriago, a local pastor warned the ex-MP against going against the clergy's advise next time.
"Opore must learn a lesson. We will not dine with him since he went against us," said Kiriago.
