Olekina, an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Senator says Sang is innocent.

In a tweet on his official Twitter account, the legislator said that those investigating graft at KPC should start by the company itself before going after the Managing Director.

"Ask yourself one question on @kenyapipeline why is that that 12/12 MD’s exited the company through court and always end up winning and being paid millions? Those looking for corruption at KPC should start with THE ENGINE...not the driver.” tweeted the vocal Senator.

Joe Sang was on December 10 released on an Sh2 million cash bail by Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti after being arraigned in an Anti-Corruption court over failure to comply with applicable procedures and law as well as engaging in a project without prior planning.

He denied the graft and abuse of office charges in the Sh1.8 billion Kisumu oil jetty contract scandal which led to his resignation and arrest.
