Mombasa County Government through the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives has kicked off livestock vaccination in Likoni Sub-county.

Some of the diseases being vaccinated on include :-

1. Lumpy skin disease (Ugonjwa wa ngozi kwa Ng'ombe).

2. Pneumonia (Ugonjwa wa Mapafu).

3. Rabies (Kichaa cha Mbwa).

4. Foot and Mouth Disease.

The vaccination comes a week after a similar exercise was kicked-off in the neighbouring Kilifi County.

Governor Jefah Kingi urged all livestock farmers in Kilifi County to take advantage of the ongoing vaccination campaign against Rift Valley Fever (RVF) and Rabies.

He reiterated his administration's commitment in supporting local livestock farmers through extension services such as issuing free vaccines against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and advising farmers on best practices to establish a disease free County.
