Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has joined other leaders and Kenyans in condemning the Tuesday's terror attack at Dusit D2 Hotel in Nairobi’s 14 Riverside.
In a series of tweets on her Twitter account on Tuesday, Ngilu condoled with families and relatives who lost their loved ones in the attack.
“My heartfelt condolences to the families of the Kenyans we lost in the terror attack at 14 Riverside in Nairobi,” She twitted on Tuesday.
The Kitui county boss commended security agencies and volunteers for their swift action in responding to the terror attack.
She urged Kenyans to stand united against terror elements and their sympathizers.
Ngilu said Kenyans will not be coward or divided by terrorist acts.
“Our collective resolve as a nation will see us through this difficult time and we will emerge stronger, "Mungu ndiye nguvu yetu," Ngilu Twitted.
Six terrorists stormed 14 Riverside drive on Tuesday afternoon and started shooting as security agencies swiftly moved into battle with the armed gunmen.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday confirmed that the six gunmen behind the attack have been killed.
In his address to Kenyans, the president also said the rescue operations have been completed.
Uhuru confirmed that 14 people lost their lives in the attack.
He hailed security agencies for swift and quick response to the attack, noting that over 700 people were evacuated to safety alive.
Uhuru urges Kenyans to remain calm and vigilant noting that their safety is guaranteed.
