Ongwae said those planning to make the official opposition party split are wasting time.

"ODM is getting strong each day. Enemies who think the party will collapse soon should find something to do because their plans won't work. The party is in opposition to stay," he said.

The ODM allied governor denied claimed that the party leader Raila Odinga decamped to Jubilee party.

"The former Prime Minister is the official opposition leader. The claims that he jumped ship to Jubilee are false and should be ignored totally," he noted.

The county boss maintained that Raila only agreed to shake hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta for the sake of bringing peace in the country after the last year's divisive polls.

Ongwae warned local leaders against engaging in hatred politics adding that spreading propaganda won't enable them to clinch political seats in 2022.

"Residents should keep a close watch on elected leaders and ensure they don't make wrong choices during the time of election," he added.
