Mutula says that his focus is on serving Makueni people, and has not declared any interest for any other seat in 2022.

Speaking at Yekanga during the burial of uncle to Makueni Town MP Daniel Maanzo on Saturday, the vocal Senator said that he has a lot of work to do for the people, and is not party to succession politics.

“The time for politics will come, and I will tell you whether I want to be governor or not, but for now, as elected leaders we must focus on service delivery to the people who elected us to office,” he said.

The senator noted that succession debate is only creating unnecessary political anxiety, and tension in the country.

He asked elected leaders to focus on addressing the issues facing Kenyans, instead of spending time politicking about 2022.

Mutula Junior also asked Kenyans to be on the lookout and shun politicians whose agenda is to cause divisions by politicking.

The vocal Senator is among top politicians being taunted to succeed Governor Kivutha Kibwana, who is serving his last term in office.
