This is after police officers shot and injured a bodaboda rider in Kenyenya on Monday night.

Gusii local politicians have ganged up against Matiang'i saying he is busy helping other Cabinet secretaries instead of concentrating in his docket.

"Matiang'i has been chest thumbing around claiming he is hardworking yet police officers are shooting unarmed people carelessly. The Monday incident where police officers from Kenyenya shot and injured a bodaboda rider is unacceptable and high time for Matiang'i to resign," said Steve Arika, a local politician.

Rachael Otundo, a Kisii based politician claimed that Matiang'i won't bring sanity in the police force.

"Police are shooting innocent people but, Matiang'i is doing nothing. He should consider going home for a different person to be appointed to serve at the docket," she said.

Isaac Motari, a Jubilee youth leader urged Matiang'i to take action on the officer who shot and injured a rider under unclear circumstances.

"We can't continue having Matiang'i serving at the crucial position while police are shooting and killing people. The officer responsible for the shooting of the bodaboda rider must be charged in court or Matiang'i to resign," said Motari.
