Eldoret residents were treated to a bizarre moment on December 17, 2013, when the corpse of a 25-year-old man 'refused' to be ferried home for burial.
Until his death, the man had been living in Eldoret town working as a casual worker. Unfortunately, after some short illness, he died. His relatives came from Busia to take him home for burial.
Arrangements were made and day organized for his corpse to be taken home. However, when the body was put in the casket and on the vehicle, the vehicle mysteriously developed mechanical problems.
Another vehicle was hired and it too developed its own mechanical problems. It was then that the deceased family realized that the corpse had refused to be taken home for burial.
Family members including his brother and sister had to plead with him through tears for more than 20 hours on the busy streets of Eldoret.
However, it was not revealed why the deceased had refused to be taken home for burial as claimed by his family members. After crying and pleading with his corpse, it finally agreed to be ferried home.
This incidence shocked residents who had never witnessed such a bizarre thing in their whole life.
