The tribunal that has been probing the conduct of Supreme Court judge Jackton Boma Ojwang has cleared him of any wrongdoing.
The judge has been under scrutiny over a range of alleged wrongdoings which the team on Sunday dismissed, throwing out the four counts levelled against him.
In a report presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta at the State House on Sunday, the tribunal concluded that the allegations cannot warrant his removal from the bench.
Alnashir Vishram, the tribunal's chair, said that they unanimously decided to acquit the honourable judge of all the allegations made against him by nine appellants.
"After adducing and analysing all the allegations made against the Honourable Justice, the unanimous verdict is that the Judge of the Supreme Court Justice Jackton Ojwang is innocent of all the allegations made against him and that he should resume his duties immediately,” he said.
In the report, the tribunal suggested the lifting of Ojwang's current suspension from the bench.
“Your Excellency, our unanimous recommendation, therefore is that Hon. Mr Justice (Prof) Jackton B. Ojwang, ought not to be removed from office and the current suspension should be lifted,” reads the report that was handed over to the president in part.
Tribunal members Ambrose Weda, Festus Azangalala, Sylvia Muchiri, Amina Abdalla and Lucy Kambuni were present during the presentation.
The tribunal was appointed by the President following a proposal by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on March 19.
A total of 25 witnesses were questioned.
The allegations revolved around breach of judicial code of conduct, misconduct and incompetence, made by one Nelson Oduor and eight others.
