Four people have been reported dead in Marakwet East, Elgeyo Marakwet county, owing to landslides resulting from a heavy rain that has been hitting parts of the country.
The four, a man, his wife and their two children, died on Friday, after being buried by the debris on Friday morning, with recovery attempts currently ongoing.
The region is not the only one that has recorded heavy rainfalls, with other parts of the nation also recording floods and destruction of property as rivers break their banks.
Other parts have seen destruction of crops and drowning of livestock as a reuslt of the same, leaving residents counting losses.
The meteorological department has said that many counties will continue receiving heavy rainfalls, among them Nairobi, Taita Taveta, Busia, Kisii, Siaya, Homa Bay and Bomet.
Others are Nakuru, Kisumu, Makueni, Machakos, Kitui, Kiambu, Migori, Nandi, Bungoma, Muranga, Tharaka Nithi, Kirinyaga, Embu, Meru, Nyandarua and Narok.
Parts of Marsabit, Wajir, Mandera and Kajiado are also set to receive heavy amounts of rainfall, with the met warning that the rains might be accompanied by landslides and storms.
The Kenya Red Cross on Thursday evening predicted four days of heavy rainfall in several parts of Kenya.
