Speaking during the inauguration of Kakamega County public service board on Tuesday, Oparanya said that he has noticed that some of the officers in his government are ever reusing clothes yet they want to be treated with respect.

He reminded the staff to observe high standards of hygiene as they deliver on their duties.

Oparanya, who is serving his second and final term in office, also said that he is aware of some of the staff members who leave behind ties and coats in their offices to make it easy for them to dress whenever they come over to work.

He said that he is not ready to tolerate the habits of the works of this nature as long as he remains in power.

“I noticed that some of you leave their coats on seats for far too long and keep on changing shirts, I discovered dirty ties in some of the coat pockets, owners must know it will not be business as usual,” he told members, as quoted by Standard.

He further said that some of the workers risk losing their jobs if they will continue dressing indecent and ungroomed manner.
