Are you scared of going for a job interview?
This is something that affects most people main reason being they don’t believe in themselves.
Sometimes people can be afraid of going to interviews because they're nervous about what they'll be asked during the interview.
Being nervous is normal but allowing that feeling to overcome you to the point of ruining the interview is something that one should not allow.
Here are three job interview tips for shy people.
1. Plan on how you’ll stall
Before going for an interview, planning how you can buy yourself time during the interview session is a great way of handling shyness.
One can use phrases such as; that’s a good question, and by doing so you can quickly organise your thoughts and get the right answer.
2. Prepare questions in advance
In most interviews, the interviewer will give you a chance to ask them questions.
This is where most people get confused and spoil it for themselves.
However, to handle such a situation well, one can prepare the questions in advance
3. Bring props
Carrying props is another good way for shy people to impress during an interview.
You can use charts or graphs to show some of the successes you've had in your career. You can also show the interviewers some of the awards you have received over time if you have any. This will give you a chance to compose yourself in the event you find yourself tongue-tied.
