A week after Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho toured Mtopanga ward - Kisauni Sub-county to inspect ongoing development of the Access road to Mtopanga estate, Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo has mocked him.

Joho who was accompanied by Likoni MP Mishi Mboko, Omar Mwinyi (Changamwe MP), Senator Mohamed Faki and former Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba, were bashed for attacking Mbogo during the tour on March 3.

"You mean all the people in Mombasa came to Kisauni to fight Ali Mbogo? Seriously? Governor, Mishi Mboko, Omar Mwinyi and the other guy whom I felled.. I don’t know his name. Seriously?” Mbogo wondered on Friday during a party to celebrate the performance of Kisauni primary school.

The lawmaker who ousted ODM's Bedzimba, a staunch ally of Joho, through Wiper Democratic Movement party, said he was neither afraid of Joho nor any of his political nemesis.

Mbogo who sent Bedzimba to a political cold in the 2017 general elections, now seeks to succeed Joho in 2022, as Bedzimba eyes his former seat.

Flanked by Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works County Executive Committee member Tawfiq Balala, Joho and his team inspected the 1.3 km road which connects Old Malindi road to Anwarali-Vikwatani road.

"The road will be upgraded to cabro paving block standard complete with a drainage system," he said.

The governor urged the Members of the County Assembly to work closely with the Executive to ensure service delivery.

"I will ensure the improvement of our road network as a catalyst for economic growth," he affirmed.
