It is hue and cry as locals accuse KDF officers of terrorising them in the Kutulo area of North Eastern region.
The locals say they now live in fear of more attacks from the people who ought to be protecting them from any form of aggression.
On Thursday, three people were allegedly gunned down by officers, sparking uproar from locals.
The identities of the victims of the alleged KDF brutality are Siyad Ibrahim Hassan, Ali Ibrahim Hassan and Saddam Maalim all from Kutulo.
Residents allege that top commanders, especially those at the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) are at the forefront of these operations.
They are now calling for immediate action from the state, demanding that the officers ought to be held criminally liable for the deaths and an apparent violation of human rights in the region.
This is not the first time that Kenya Defence Forces officers have been accused of terrorising innocent herders in arid region.
In 2015, officers reported to be KDF officers killed nine herders in Fino area during an operation to flush out Al-Shabab insurgents.
