Duale says that Korane has succeeded in uniting clans and communities for the one year he has been in office.

Speaking in Bura on Saturday, Duale also hailed Korane's development agenda.

He said that the Jubilee governor has initiated key development projects in health, irrigation, and education.

Duale said that Garissa residents have confidence in Korane's leadership.

"Garissa has experienced great transformation since Governor Korane took office in 2017 and we urge him to continue initiating projects," he said.

He also hailed Korane for public participation.

He said that Garissa residents are fully engaged in running of the county affairs.

Duale said that the national government will work with Korane especially on matters agriculture and security.

Korane was elected in the 2017 general election after defeating former governor Nathif Jama.

However, Korane's leadership has been embroiled with controversies.

The governor has been questioned over the attempted murder of former Finance CEC Idriss Mukhtar.

Korane's academic papers have also been questioned with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) said to be probing him.

Korane has, however, denied having a hand in Mukhtar's attempted murder.
