Outgoing Finance Minister Jackline Momanyi has yet again hit back to her critics, insisting that they are out to smear her name for political reasons.
Ms Momanyi, resignation news broke out on Friday, has understandably taken another job in Nairobi.
In an interview, she said, he decision to quit was personal, adding that the governor received and signed her resignation letter.
"I am hearing a lot of that nonsense. The truth is, I resigned in good faith and the governor respected my decision.
"Those gossiping around that I was kicked out are the same detractors who were keen to have me out. They can now take the office in good faith," she argued.
Already, Momanyi has handed over to her successor Peter Muga, who also doubles as Tourism and Trade Minister in the county.
Her first attempt to resign was widely discussed in August but Governor Nyagarama is said to have prevailed upon her to rescind the decision.
