Ambassador Amina Mohammed is one of the most powerful individuals of Somali origin in Kenya.
She is also the current Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Education, having gained prominence while serving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Many have known her as a no-nonsense CS who is ever smiling but firm in her actions.
What many are yet to know is her highest educational qualifications and the institutions she schooled in.
CS Amina holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the University of Kiev, Ukraine.
She also is also in possession of A Master of Laws degree (LLM) in International Law which she acquired from the same Ukrainian higher learning institution.
Apart from the two overseas certificates, Amina has another second degree in Law studies from the Kenya School of Law together with a Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
Besides her colorful educational qualifications, CS Amina is widely recognised as the first ever woman to preside over the General Council of the World Trade Organization as well as being the first individual of African origin to Chair the Council of International Organization for Migration.
Amina Mohamed also served the Kenyan government as the Director for Europe and Commonwealth Divisions besides being the Director for Diaspora Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
