A Jubilee allied Member of Parliament in Kisii County has mourned the death of legendary athlete Nyandika Mayioro.
Mayioro died at Christa Marianne mission hospital in Kisii on Sunday evening.
The legendary athlete has been receiving treatment at the facility for the last two weeks.
Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i expressed his sorrow following the death of Mayioro.
"I'm saddened by the news of the death of our legendary athlete Mzee Nyandika Mayioro, five days ago I visited and interacted with him at his hospital bed. He was a true gift from God to the world and his amazing legacy will always remain in our hearts. May God rest his soul in peace," the MP said.
According to Tong'i, Mayioro death a big blow not only to his family but the entire country and world.
The vocal legislator last week visited the deceased in hospital where he wished him well.
"Visited Mzee Nyandika Mayioro, our Legendary Athlete at Christa Marianne Hospital and wished him a speedy recovery," said the lawmaker on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.
